{"id":681,"date":"2021-08-31T18:41:22","date_gmt":"2021-08-31T18:41:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/auroralpower.ca\/?p=681"},"modified":"2021-08-31T18:41:23","modified_gmt":"2021-08-31T18:41:23","slug":"60m-propagation-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/auroralpower.ca\/?p=681","title":{"rendered":"60m Propagation Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The objective of our 60M propagation experiment is to evaluate the band as a viable HF communications link between remote communities and larger centers throughout the Northern Canada Auroral Zone.<br \/>\nTo accomplish this, a number volunteer Amateur Radio operators setup automatic beacons for during the data collection portion of the project that lasted from late 2016 until the end of 2020.<br \/>\nWe used the <a href=\"https:\/\/pskreporter.info\/pskmap.html?preset&amp;callsign=ZZZZZ&amp;what=all&amp;mode=OLIVIA&amp;band=5000000-6000000&amp;timerange=7200\">PSK Reporter<\/a> to collect beacon reports until 2020 when we started using js8call and a custom script that would parse the log files and insert the reports into our database server.<\/p>\n<p>Solar weather data was collected from various government and scientific organizations and inserted into our central database every 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>We are now in the data analysis phase of the project with 170,000+ receive beacon reports.
